Dato’ Akhtar Zainudin is an seasoned aviation professional with 35 years of experience across corporate and government sectors. A former aviator and senior military leader, he held various leadership roles, including Air Base Commander and Director of Human Resources. After retiring from the military, he transitioned to corporate positions in general aviation and R&D. Dato' Akhtar is the Founding Dean of the Aviation Faculty at National Defence University of Malaysia (NDUM). Currently, as a Principal Fellow, he leads technology transfer and commercialisation efforts. Dato’ Akhtar is a lifetime member of Academy Professor Malaysia (APM) and a noted speaker on defence economics and strategic trade.
